Hospitality Baking/Cooking: LSPO provides occasional refreshments throughout the year as well as the food for the staff prior to Back to School Night and the End of Year Staff Luncheon.
Please contact me about providing items for these events.
     
Proctor Exams: During midyear exams (third week of January) or final exams (last week of school) help a teacher proctor an exam room for either a morning exam (8-11), and afternoon exam (11:30-2:30) or an overtime room (exams that go over either of these time frames.)

Local Talent Outreach: At times, teachers like to have people come in to talk about real-world work that applies to or develops from the material students learn in school. Alternatively, L-S has in the past arranged Wellness / stress-free sessions offering Yoga, massages and discussions about choices that students make. Please provide the topic or experience that you would like to share. For example: A lawyer coming to a law class to talk about contracts, an engineer to talk about CAD applications, a psychologist sharing insights into child development or an author who could speak to both the writing process and the challenges of getting published, a banker to speak to students about checking accounts.

GO GREEN! The Greening of L-S - Work with in-house staff and students. Ideas and topics include: researching potential for Geo-thermal drilling, Solar panels, Mass Tech grants, other grants. Re-energize and help with recycling programs

Corporate Resources & Grant Opportunities - Find available Public and Private Grants. Work with staff and/or students. Write Grants for the Arts, Music, Math, Science etc

Weekly Plant Watering - L-S staff is looking for a volunteer to take on weekly watering of the indoor plants throughout the building.

Stress Busters- An initiative to combat stress at L-S. Join others to coordinate events for an Anti-Stress day? or week? or interspersed throughout the year --- stress management events, information, yoga classes or other fun and creative ideas.

Academic Support Center - Tutors are needed for writing/editing. Also tutors are needed for organizations skills - organizing binders, planning time, etc. Monday - Friday time slots can be scheduled to fit your availability

Library Support - Library support is needed during busy times. Re-shelving books is also needed. Help before and after school would be helpful to extend open hours.

Clerical Help and other tasks- Help with mailings in the front office and provide clerical assistance to the House Assistants, and other jobs to help the LS Staff..

Metco Support - We are looking for parents to assist with various aspects of the Metco program. For example: athletes in the Metco Program will only have late buses on Tuesday and Thursdays, also the After School Program needs tutoring and organizational help.

I would be able to drive students to Boston after sports events
I would be interested in tutoring with the Metco After School Program.
I would be willing to coordinate the scheduling of tutors for the Metco After School Program.

Jamaica Jammin'- Jamaica Jammin' - This substance-free "senior safe night" celebration is a fabulous tradition held the evening of graduation -- June 6, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. -- thanks to about 100 parent volunteers.  Underclass parents are needed to organize, set-up and chaperone Jamaica Jammin'; senior class parents are needed for clean-up, 5-7 a.m.
